How we count: every refill replaces one 500 ml bottle. A 500 ml PET bottle weighs about 9.9 g and costs about 0.0828 kg CO₂e to make and ship. The bottle count comes from our stations and updates hourly.

The problem is the bottle, not the water.
Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Africa and home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Every visitor drinks two to three litres a day, and until recently almost all of it came in single-use plastic that ends up in landfill, in the bush or in the Zambezi.

What a refill station changes
A station at a lodge, cafe or activity office replaces the crate of bottles behind the bar. Guests refill the same bottle for their whole stay, the host stops buying and storing plastic, and the wildlife that shares this town stops finding it.
Stations are installed and serviced by us, so hosting one costs a partner nothing but a plug and a tap.

Recognised at World Travel Market Africa
Ecodrop won Gold for Responsible Tourism at World Travel Market Africa in Cape Town, for a system that started with one station in 2023 and now runs across the town, including the airport.

Schools drink for free
Our refill systems also go into selected schools in Victoria Falls and around Zimbabwe, so children have cold, clean water through the day without a single plastic bottle.
